The first day

I have left for my travels. I said goodbye to Arcata, Simi, and now, I have reached Boston.

The 12 hour flight was extensive to say the least. I was thankful that I slept through essentially all of the flying. I am not too jet lagged, but am definitely downtrodden.

Besides from the dilemma I feel that I am facing concerning my academic year next year, I am ecstatic to be in Boston. Everything is so green, bricky, and serene. All the environments I have seen so far have been quiet, clean, and fine tuned with detail.

I spent most of the day wondering around in a daze. John picked me up at the airport, we grabbed my things, and were off. We took the subway back to his apartment, and on the way home, we got sandwich foods. We went back to his flat and ate. After feeling rejuvenated, we walked to a technology store. I think that the adventure there and back were better than the store itself. Every house seems to be unique, every tree is green with life. The sidewalks are uneven, and much of the paint is cracked. I like it. John works in a 'historic' district, and I spent some time wandering around there. I have some pictures, but none too amazing. When it was time for dinner, we went down to a burrito store in the back of a gas station that was voted 'the best burrito in Boston'. I must admit, it was amazing. I don't know what they put in, but I loved it.

Ive seen some interesting flowers also. One looked like a calalilly but where the flower was, it was a half-dome of white with the yellow piece still in the same place. It looked like a bunch of lamps. I also felt a small plant that looked like a miniature fox tail. But it was incredibly soft and was somewhat therapeutic.

Now, it is 8:30, and John has to work until 10. I will surf the web, and work on my dilemma.
I am so happy to be here, but completely lost inside of my head.
